Market Access

Access to the Italian Online Commodities Exchange (BMTI) online dealing system is reserved to Intermediary Agents (in Italian, Soggetti Abilitati all'Intermediazione - SAI). The SAI is a completely new professional figure in the Italian agricultural sector and was created in a Law Decree drawn up on April 6th 2006 by the Ministry of Agricultural Policies. The SAI deals only on-line on the BMTI, and on behalf of registered operators.

Can become SAI:

Business agents in mediation;
Commercial agents and representatives;
Capital companies;
Investment companies, banks and financial intermediaries.

All professional operators in the agricultural, agri-food and fish sector that are not qualified to register as SAIs can still be accredited at the BMTI and access the online trading system through SAIs. By means of a market window, accredited operators can observe their markets of interest, manage their relationship with the SAI, and constantly monitor their market operations.
