The direct access to the on-line dealing platform is exclusively reserved to Registered Dealers (S.A.I.).
The SAI is a completely new professional figure in the Italian agricultural sector and was created by a Law Decree (decree no. 174) drawn up on April 6th 2006 by the Ministry of Agriculture. The SAI deals only on-line on the Italian On-line Commodity Exchange (BMTI), and on behalf of registered operators.
The following can become SAI:
All professional operators in the agricultural, food and fishery sector that are not qualified to enrol as SAIs can still be registered at the BMTI and access the on-line contracting system through SAIs. With a clear market view, registered operators can observe markets of interest to them and manage their relationship with the SAI. They can also constantly monitor their market operations.
